On June 12, 2027, the Cirque Royal will host Youssoupha in a stage creation as ambitious as it is moving, where rap dialogues with gospel and symphonic music.
This concert is first and foremost a meeting between a rapper, a pianist, a choir, and an orchestra, conducted by Olivier Koundouno. It is also a meeting between several musical styles: rap, gospel, and so-called "classical" music. Carried by the committed lyrics of the Franco-Congolese rapper Youssoupha, the choristers and instrumentalists bring to life the arrangements made by the conductor, Olivier Koundouno.
At the crossroads of film music and grand opera but without abandoning rap, from which he has kept a taste for sampling, the composer and arranger has orchestrated an original score, devoid of pre-recorded sequences, DJ, and rhythmic set (drums, bass), in order to let the rubato express itself, for the benefit of the phrasing. And that's not counting the presence, on the keyboard, of Manu Sauvage! So many ingredients gathered for this… experience!
