The Scent of Green Papaya

1951, Saigon. Mùi, a teenage girl, finds a job as a housekeeper for a wealthy Vietnamese family. She works hard and thus takes the place of the deceased daughter. The lady of the house hopes that her son will marry Mùi, so that they can stay together even longer, but if this does not happen, she will have to leave at twenty.
