Time: 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM / 8:00 PM - 9:00 PM Instructors: Valerie Maene Level: Open Level / Intermediate/Advanced Dancehall originated in the streets of Jamaica. It is a lifestyle and not just a dance style in itself . 'Bogle' was the founder of this style in the 90s, late 80s. Dancehall consists of Old School, Middle School, and New School, and to this day, new steps are still being added. Dancehall is both female and male. It is a very intensive, sometimes explosive, but also smooth and flowy style that requires a lot of knowledge and technique. This style is also usually only danced to real Dancehall music and sometimes to Afro Beats.
