Ellen Schoenaerts

Somewhere between chanson, fado and Dutch-language cabaret, Ellen Schoenaerts occupies a unique place within the Dutch-language song. Her music is compelling, honest and rich in arrangement, with lyrics that are both comforting and relentless. The press praised her work as “raw, pure and from another planet” (Enola, NRC, De Standaard). During her live concerts Schoenaerts intertwines instrumental pieces with songs from her three albums; intense moments full of emotion and beauty.
