Book chat: In orbit (Samantha Harvey) - waiting list

About the book A team of astronauts collects meteorological data in an international space station and conducts scientific experiments there. Although they are separated from the world, they still cannot escape the constant gravitational pull of the earth. They receive the news that the mother of one of them has died. This brings thoughts of a return home. They watch as a typhoon gathers above the people they love, and are in awe and fear. The vulnerability of human life fills their conversations, their fears and their dreams. So far from the earth, they have never felt so close. Samantha Harvey (°1975) is a British writer. In 2024 she won the prestigious Booker Prize for her novel 'In orbit'. Over Boekbabbel Al for more than ten years the Book Chat has been meeting every month in Muntpunt. Everyone is welcome. For each book there are two sessions: one on Tuesday (14:00 - 16:00) and one on Friday (10:00 - 12:00). This way everyone can have their chat. Attention!
