Phlox (B) - We bring danceable folk vibes with steady grooves & sweet melodies!
Phlox saw the light of day on a sultry summer evening. Four good friends with a love for folk join forces to let their diverse musical roots merge into a unique quartet. They bring fresh and quirky tunes where their musical influences from jazz, pop, funk, folk, latin, etc. blend into vibrant arrangements that know how to please both dancer and listener.
That these comrades like to be on stage cannot be denied. Each of them has a busy musical agenda and they play in different bands (Airboxes, Aardpeer, Minneapolis, Sandra Kim, etc.). Their years of experience result in strong interplay and a dynamic performance.
After several successful concerts in 2022 (Boombalfestival, Gentse Feesten, De Centrale, Benenwerk, etc.) Phlox crawled into the studio and released their first EP in June 2023!
The quartet is eager to bring their music to new stages!
Guus Herremans – Diatonic accordion (Airboxes, Les Bottines Artistique)
Elias Storme – Saxophone (RVB Quartet, Minneapolis)
Jelle Van Cleemputte – bass guitar (Sandra Kim, Sarah, Willy Sommers)
Wannes Cornelis – Percussion (Aardpeer)
