Bike ride "Seeing Geen Moer" For centuries, peat cutters ensured that our society was provided with fuel. But who was that peat cutter? Where did he live and how did he work? In the area between Kalmthout, Wuustwezel, and Roosendaal, peat was extracted on a large scale and transported along the peat canals to Breda and several Flemish cities. This method has left enormous traces in the landscape. Our guide will take you through the various old peat extraction areas and beautiful cross-border nature reserves such as De Maatjes and the Kalmthoutse Heide.
