The program forms a special balance between different worlds: Classical masterpieces: We draw from the rich tradition of religious and romantic music, where stillness and devotion set the tone. Tijdloze Protestsongs & Pop classics: In addition to the classical repertoire, we will perform iconic songs from the 20th century—songs that have grown worldwide into anthems of hope, tolerance, and change. Spirituals: The raw, sincere power of tradition that speaks of freedom and hope. Word and Sound Between the musical works, Frank Degruyter forms the connecting link. With his sharp observations, subtle poetry, and compelling stories, he gives the music an extra dimension. Frank reflects on the themes of the program; sometimes comforting, sometimes challenging, but always with the intention of drawing the listener even deeper into the story of the compositions.
