NM trip: Natuurpunt Katers

The ‘Katers’ is part of the ‘Natuurpark Zwarte Beek’: the largest recognized nature reserve in Flanders.\r\nPlants and animals occur here that do not occur anywhere else in Flanders.\r\nTo protect them, Natuurpunt Hechtel-Eksel and its volunteers regularly carry out management work.\r\nIn the past two years, extra large nature restoration works have been carried out to make the landscape even more beautiful.\r\nThe results of this will be discovered on Thursday afternoon, June 18, 2026.\r\n\r\nIn the middle of the ‘Katers’ lies the Katershoeve, a place with special memories and stories for many Hechtel residents, including the Fransen family.\r\nWe will make a short discovery walk under the guidance of Johan Van den Bosch to see and hear how Natuurpunt takes care of this landscape and also listen to Cecile Fransen with stories about the past.\r\n\r\nWe end with coffee and pie.\r\nPractical info.\r\n ➢ Register until Sunday, June 14, 2026, with Jos Vangeneugden (0474/68 32 01 or jos@vangeneugden.net).\r\n ➢ Gather at 2:00 p.m. at the Katershoeve (on foot, by bike, or by car).\r\n\r\n ➢ Free\r\n\r\n\r\n ➢ Everyone welcome
