Recital in the Gardens | SenS Duo, Cello & Accordion

Two musicians born in 1996, trained in the Russian tradition and now based across Europe: SenS Duo brings together cellist Ivan Sendetsky and accordionist Vladimir Stupnikov in a distinctive chamber music programme, combining contemporary works with classical adaptations. Ivan Sendetsky received his training in Berlin, Boston and Basel before continuing his studies at the Royal Academy of Music in London. He has performed at the Berlin Philharmonie and Vienna Musikverein, and will appear at Wigmore Hall in 2026. A laureate of several international competitions, he is also a laureate of the 2026 Queen Elisabeth International Music Competition. Vladimir Stupnikov, trained in Saint Petersburg and Moscow, is currently pursuing his studies in Würzburg. Winner of more than thirty international competitions, including the World Trophy of Accordion and the Arrasate Hiria competition, he has performed at the Mariinsky Theatre and the Saint Petersburg Philharmonia. Several contemporary composers have written works specifically for him, which he has premiered in concert. Together, they form an award-winning duo, whose accolades include First Prize at the Manhattan International Music Competition (2025). Their performances are distinguished by a profound musical connection and an openness to a repertoire that pushes the boundaries of what chamber music can be. From Bach to Piazzolla, their programme brings together great classics, 20th-century music and contemporary works, including pieces by Ligeti, Stravinsky and Martin Lohse.
