Matinee: Hans Sparla

Trombonist and accordionist Hans Sparla enjoyed a musical upbringing in a domestic setting and learned to play the accordion from his father. After a classical education at the Brabants Conservatorium in Tilburg, he came into contact with jazz and improvised music early on and developed into a versatile musician. He plays in various ensembles, including the quirky jazz collective VLEK. In addition to his work as a performing musician, he taught at the Brabants Conservatorium and at Factorium Tilburg, where he taught trombone, composition and improvisation.
