Improvisation – virtuoso – accessible – instrumental - acoustic After ten years, saxophonist Marjan Van Rompay is releasing another album in a quartet setting: On Track. Together with her life partner and bassist Janos Bruneel, she wrote personal compositions that refer to her musical journey and her passion for long-distance running. Live, the music gets extra breathing room: with pianist Ewout Pierreux, bassist Janos Bruneel, and drummer Toon Van Dionant, Van Rompay brings lyrical, warm, and soulful jazz with plenty of room for improvisation. Expect authentically colorful and accessible jazz, carried by a singing saxophone sound and a rhythm section that breathes, listens, and shines.
