Perseus nights

Every year, the Earth moves through a cloud of dust particles left behind by the comet Swift-Tuttle, which results in numerous bright meteors with the peak during the night of Thursday, August 13 to Friday, August 14. On the occasion of this annually recurring celestial spectacle, Astropolis is organizing a public observation evening in a particularly cozy setting. From 7:00 PM, Astropolis opens its doors where everyone can choose a location for free on the observation meadow (park ‘Nieuwe koers’). Bring a blanket, sleeping bag, and/or a lounge chair so you can comfortably peer at the sky. At various locations, you can find mini-Dobson telescopes with which you can observe freely.
