Film film: Babette's Feast (1987) - Gabriel Axel

Babette brings French culinary culture to a strict Danish Protestant village – and thus transforms both herself and the community. The feast is epicurean, but beyond the clichés. No excess is shown, but a moment of community building; old wounds heal and human connection takes precedence.
