Quasi una Fantasia for piano duo

This year the Hungarian composer György Kurtág turned one hundred. Voor Jan Michiels and Inge Spinette – together the Yin-Yang Piano Duo – he remains one of the most original and fascinating composers of our time, if only because he can express so much with so few notes. Especially for this anniversary year, the duo designed the program Quasi una Fantasia, which starts from Schubert's beautiful Fantasie in f for piano four-hands. Through this masterpiece, Michiels and Spinette weave a garland of piano pieces in which Kurtág is the guest of honor, and in which Johann Sebastian Bach and Béla Bartók also pass by. It will be a sophisticated tribute to the great master of the small gesture!
