Nona Demey Gallagher - A Room Of His Own

A Room Of His Own is a perverse comedy of manners about pornography, power and sexual politics. Central is Andrea Dworkin, the iconic anti-porn feminist from the seventies. During a sleepless night, Dworkin takes the audience on a dark journey through the post-war promise of sexual freedom - her decadent dream images, her contradictions and her lasting grip on society. Theatermaakster Nona Demey Gallagher already caused a stir in 2023 with Up Your Ass, Valerie Solanas’s controversial comedy from 1965 that she directed together with Lieselot Siddiki. The performance was, among other things, selected for the Theaterfestival 2024, where it was described as a rock-’n-roll rollercoaster and won the prize for Beste Samenspel.
