Botany and plant traces

Summer internship around mixed techniques: visual arts, notebooks, impressions, with Maya Schuiten. The fascinating beauty of plants cannot be easily captured. But with a little technique and creativity, it is possible to fix the ephemeral, to keep a trace of our wonder, to even sublimate this moment of encounter with the plant. We will approach the plant world under different facets, artistic, of course, but also scientific with its mysterious jargon and "the vastest" to which recent discoveries have given us access. We will create a notebook to collect our traces of plants and keep our feelings. Observation drawing can be declined in different forms and it is not necessary to be a recognized artist to obtain very beautiful results. We will also experiment with various techniques such as drying, cyanotypes, plant impressions, ... So many occasions to give the plant world the honors it deserves. Without prerequisites, open to everyone. NB: This internship is hosted by the Jean Massart Botanical Garden, where it takes place in its entirety — Chaussée de Wavre 1850, Auderghem. The garden is accessible by public transport from the Herrmann-Debroux stops (tram 8, metro 5, bus 41) or Jardin Massart (bus 72) as well as by Tec bus and De Lijn. By car: parking under the viaduct or along the football fields (stadium).
