The wildest stories and fables circulate about bats. Perhaps the most famous is the story of Dracula, a vampire who can turn into a bat. During the 'Night of the Bat' , you will learn everything about these mysterious little animals. Did you know that they are the only flying mammals? And perhaps even more acrobatic in the air than swallows! How do they hibernate? What do they eat? How do they hunt? How old do they get?... And even questions like 'whether bats get stuck in your hair' will be answered. We start the evening in the library at 8 PM with a fun, interactive presentation about the different types of bats we can expect on the walk. Around 8:45 PM, we will walk along the Voer in the direction of the pond of the castle of Leefdaal. Using a bat detector, you will be able to make the sonar of the bats audible yourself. In case of rain, it is best to wear boots or walking shoes. All in all, we count on about 2 hours. The activity is free, but we do ask you to register, as the number of places is limited.
