Warm Water | film screening by and with Wim Pyl

De Bottelarij, Ulbeek (Wellen)

Wim Pyl is a youth worker, stand-up paddler, co-founder of wld wtrs Initiative, and an adventurer who prefers to work in places where water is still truly wild. In Warm Water he takes you on a journey through the Alps, where he climbs steep paths with his board and a whole bunch of sample material on his back. What started as a simple plan to SUP on high-altitude lakes soon became a battle against snow, wind, cold, and his own limits. Yet one goal remained clear: to reach those lakes, slide the board into the crystal-clear water, and take water samples. Wim wanted to know if those hidden, almost untouched lakes are still truly free of plastic. His journeys and films move between expedition, education, and experience, and show how vulnerable and powerful our water sources are. Although he often travels solo, his mission never is: he wants to take others along in a story that is bigger than one adventure. Warm Water is therefore not a classic travelogue, but an honest look at how far you have to go to find pure water. The film shows the beauty of those places, but also their vulnerability and what that says about our relationship with nature. Anyone who goes on the road with Wim, on the water or in a hall, quickly feels that his stories do not have to be heroic to touch. Practical information: • Price: €39 per person for a 3-course dinner (excluding drinks) and film screening • Start: 7:00 PM • Program: - Starter and main course from 7:00 PM  - Film “Warm Water”, with introduction and discussion by Wim Pylo  - Sweet dessert after the screening and opportunity to chat with Wim Reservation is required at info@debottelarij.be or 012 21 42 84
