Tower Music 2026 - Jasper Depraetere (BE)

Jasper Depraetere (°2000) is the municipal carillonneur of Mol, assistant city carillonneur of Lier, chairman of the Vlaamse Beiaard Vereniging, and teacher of carillon, ensemble playing, and harmony at the Koninklijke Beiaardschool in Mechelen. He graduated from that same school in 2018 and obtained his master's degrees in carillon, education, and chamber music with highest distinction at LUCA School of Arts (Lemmens) in 2023 and 2024. In 2019, at the age of 19, he won the second prize and the audience prize during the prestigious Koningin Fabiolawedstrijd, for which he was appointed competition coordinator in 2024. Jasper is a welcome guest carillonneur at home and abroad and has performed at carillon festivals worldwide. In 2025, he was a guest in Chicago at Festival New Music where he gave masterclasses and concerts, and he debuted that same summer in the Verenigde Staten with a tour from Boston to Philadelphia for a series of concerts. In addition to solo concerts, Jasper seeks the boundaries of chamber music with carillon under the name ‘Beyond the Bells’ and performs with it in various formations.
