Ligo Zuid-Oost-Vlaanderen & HETGEVOLG // Peace builders

In Vredebouwers Dutch speakers and newcomers share the boards. Where words sometimes fall short or the language is still strange, emotion speaks. This is theater in its purest form: honest and hopeful. It reminds us that, despite our different backgrounds, we are all building on that same need: a place of peace and homecoming. Let yourself be carried away by the voices of the city. In the shadow of the Wall, these Peace Builders show that the most beautiful constructions are not made of stone, but of people. On stage are no actors reciting a learned script. The players are the architects of the piece. About the makers HETGEVOLG and Ligo Zuid-East Flanders met each other in 2025 during Grenzeloze Dagen in collaboration with our cultural house. This time they land in Geraardsbergen where, with a group of students from all over the world, they go in search of what are the access roads for them to build their daily life in our society. From this exchange of cultures, languages, habits, and movements, they mold a world of Peace Builders (with a capital P). Peace Builders who, straight through all cultures, use their skills to make a universal human story.
