Recognition, everyone craves it. To be seen, to be appreciated, to matter. But what if that confirmation fails to materialize? If your words don't penetrate, your talent remains unnoticed, your place is constantly taken by someone else? Jealousy rears its head, vanity wrings, insecurity gnaws.
For artists, recognition is their bread and butter, and so Suze Milius zooms in on their biotope in the musical performance ‘This will not end well’. We observe a group of artists being interviewed during their collaboration. But it soon becomes clear that nothing is what it seems: one artist speaks the words of the other. And in the intonation, the underlying tensions are painfully exposed. Welcome to the alienating mirror world of Suze Milius, where a compelling soundscape of music feeds the undertow and the boundary between play and reality fades further and further.
