Living room storytelling at Caroline and Wouter's

PIPE AND TOBACCO: STORIES BY AND ABOUT FELIX TIMMERMANS Felix Timmermans, a name that sounds familiar to many, but often only in vague memories. We might know his masterpieces, Pallieter and Boerenpsalm , and perhaps read them. But the Fé was much more than the author of these two Flemish classics. Less known are the many fascinating stories in which he, in his characteristic picturesque way, captured the daily life of a century ago. Full of humor, social engagement, and subtle social criticism, these stories offer a rich insight into his world. Geert Tersago became fascinated by both the stories and the person who brought them to life. Between the lines, a surprising image of the man behind the pen unfolded, an image that Geert wants to share with enthusiasm by telling these stories. Felix Timmermans once put it so aptly: “Writing is like going to confession.” In Pipe and Tobacco , this Flemish author is therefore a guest in the confessional, where he reveals himself in an authentic way. Geert plays the bagpipes in between, thus providing relaxation between the stories. On Thursday, August 27, 2026, at 8:00 PM, Geert Tersago will be telling stories at Caroline and Wouter's, Nachtegaalstraat 29 in Zulte.
