Taxidermia

The film tells the story of three generations of Morosgoványi bastards. The father, Vendel, is a sex-obsessed soldier, the son, Kalman, a world champion of gluttony, and the grandson, Lajoska, a taxidermist (an animal stuffer with a megalomaniacal master plan). Three generations and half a century of Hungarian history (the themes of war, oppression, and liberation are also very literally present in the three distinct episodes) are used by Pálfi for an unconventional metaphysical reflection on the question of what really remains of the human being when their body disappears. In short: what is the point of all this earthly fucking, eating, and working? The narrative is both linear and multidimensional. More important than its historical writing is the associative journey it undertakes through a visual universe. Admission: free contribution.
