VeelbeLEUVENd opens its fourth season with a fresh Schubertiade. It promises to be an intimate evening with the entire group of young professionals bringing Schubert’s timeless music to life. Actor Armin Mola weaves the musical elements into a compelling narrative with a specially written text by Rik Vanden Broeck. VeelbeLEUVENd reveals another glimpse of Schubert’s genius. The concert takes you on a journey through Schubert’s most moving and virtuosic works. From the playful (Die Forelle) to the intense (Der Wanderer), and from the lyrical (Gretchen am Spinrade) to the majestic (Octet): each piece highlights a different facet of Schubert’s genius. The evening reaches its climax with Auf dem Strom, a work Schubert composed for a unique combination of voice, piano and horn. The concert concludes with a reprise of Die Forelle, this time from Schubert’s quintet of the same name; a nod to the start of the evening. This reborn Schubertiade will be a celebration of music and young talent. Young performers at the start of their careers bring Schubert to life with passion and skill.
