Night walk: bats and other nocturnal animals (1000-species day in Ghent)

Fri, 5 Jun 2026 · 22:00
Spaanskasteelplein, Ghent
Free
The light gives way to darkness. The night also has its life forms. Much less known to humans, our senses are not tuned to it and our biorhythm demands invigorating sleep at that time. But how do those nocturnal animals do it? How do they find their way? How do they 'see' each other? It is astonishing how well they are adapted to the dark. And the bat above all. With the bat detector, Bart Opstaele takes you through the Macharius district and you will get to know the bat and its entire life. Please register via the orange button below. This activity is part of the 1000-species day in the Ghent city center. Look at the bottom for more info.
