It is easy to get to the dusty little Mexican town of Las Piedras. It is not as easy to leave it. Many have come from far away in search of work, only to succumb to boredom and misery, eaten away by the heat, insects, and local bootleg alcohol. The American oil company that rules this poor region does not have jobs for everyone. But an opportunity arises when a fire breaks out in one of the company's oil wells located 500 kilometers away.
