From Home to heritage

Sun, 2 Aug 2026 · 10:00
Hannon House, Brussels
La Maison Hannon welcomes its new exhibition From Home to Heritage starting April 25, 2026. It is the occasion to look into the sinuous history hidden behind this intriguing facade. For if it benefits today from unanimous recognition, it almost disappeared with the departure of its first occupants. Indeed, this masterpiece of Art Nouveau experienced years of wandering and abandonment before being judged worthy of becoming heritage. The house then began a slow movement from the intimate to the museum space. The exhibition proposes to retrace this transition and attempt to answer the questions that arise from it. What makes a place become heritage? And how to make it accessible? It is possible to protect what remains, to restore what was, but also to accompany it towards other paths, in which visitors are invited to participate. With the support of the Commune de Saint-Gilles, Urban Brussels, Start Invest, and Eeckman.
