Jette, Art Déco side

Formerly a hamlet on the outskirts of the Ville de Bruxelles, Jette experienced significant urban growth during the Interwar period. In this capacity, the municipality in the north of Brussels possesses a remarkable Art Déco heritage, essentially composed of single-family houses and small apartment buildings that present extremely original volumetric approaches. This visit sets out to discover the different trends of Art Déco architecture and shows all the possible and imaginable variations of a facade decoration: play of colors, materials, volumes, wrought iron work, some pieces of which constitute true masterpieces, references to cubism, regionalism or even the forms of ocean liners that connect Europe to America and fascinate the architects of the era.
