Les Galets at the Tilleul are smaller than at Le Havre (which makes swimming much more pleasant) PJPP Choreographic theater Tout Public Avec humor, precision, and a delicious sense of displacement, Les Galets explores those small conversations that apparently lead to nothing... and yet say a lot about us. Absurd everyday sketches, awkward silences, debates without stakes, words that go in circles: Claire Laureau and Nicolas Chaigneau examine ordinary banality to reveal all its humor. Here, we talk about the rain, the fine weather, tiny things, nothing or almost nothing. But behind these innocuous exchanges emerge fragments of humanity, loneliness, awkwardness, and unexpected poetry. On stage, four performers juggle with words, bodies, rhythms, and silences. Theater, dance, song, and music intertwine in a mechanism as fine as it is wacky, where every sigh, every prompt, every shrug of the shoulders becomes a playground. The meaning of the sentences sometimes matters less than what happens between them: the looks, the tensions, the approaches, the escapes, the tiny gestures that betray everything that words do not say. We laugh a lot at these conversations that spiral out of control, these petty squabbles, these endless speeches that can suddenly resemble real hostage-taking. But little by little, something else surfaces. In the folds of the void, in the absurdity of the exchanges, nestle great tenderness and acute attention to what connects us. Halfway between theater, choreography, and quirky bar talk, Les Galets is a UFO show, joyfully absurd and deeply human. A crossing of the futile that relaxes the zygomatics, warms the heart, and reminds us that, even when we say nothing important, the essential is sometimes being played out.
