N∆BOU is a quartet around the Belgian trombonist and composer Nabou Claerhout. After the albums ’Hubert’ (2019) and ‘You Know’ (2021), the third album, ‘Indigo’, heralds a new artistic phase: with a renewed line-up – Trui Amerlinck (double bass), Gijs Idema (electric guitar) and Daniel Jonkers (drums), with new perspectives and personally written compositions that translate into music that sounds raw and refined, intimate and powerful at the same time. The sound of ‘Indigo’ moves between dreamy spheres and playful, groove-driven energy. Each song reinvents itself in form and texture. Claerhout’s trombone remains the leading voice, supported by subtle effects and short, almost ghostly solo moments that bring vulnerability and strength together.
