We are starting the new season with a bang!
Met Scherzo gives Släpstick his hilarious take on classical music. Expect a slapstick comedy full of beautiful and moving music, in which everything gets completely out of hand, only to eventually land back on its feet.
Bach's beautiful preludes look suspiciously like a Greek sirtaki. A bust of Beethoven engages in a ventriloquist battle with a yodeling Schubert. You will hear Danse Macabre on theremin, see tennis with violins, a wonderful Nutcracker, and much more.
The five gentlemen of Släpstick play like stars from heaven and pay tribute along the way to heroes such as Danny Kaye, Charlie Chaplin, and The Marx Brothers. With their theater shows Släpstick and The Roaring Twenties, these virtuoso musical clowns have caused an international sensation, resulting in sold-out halls from Belgium to New Zealand, thunderous applause, and a shower of awards.
Scherzo is our festive opening. After the performance, we will toast to the new season together.
