Ça s’débat!? continues its reflection on today's world through the prism of cinema and will address the issue of systemic racism.
In partnership with Estelle Depris ( https://www.instagram.com/estelle.depris/ ), this evening will be an opportunity to question the structures of discrimination at work in our society and open the debate.
The screening will begin with the projection of Class Photo by Lista Boudalika
Produit through CVB and directed in 1992, the film is the story of an encounter between two groups of young girls that everything seems to separate: culture, religion, and social background. On one side, high school girls from an upscale neighborhood of Woluwe; on the other, secretarial students in a technical school located in a working-class neighborhood of Schaerbeek. Through this confrontation, the film explores the links and divisions that reveal themselves, creating a fragile bridge between two distant worlds.
After the screening, Estelle Depris (sansblancderien) will moderate a debate on systemic racism. Bring your cell phones and participate in an interactive exchange in the room, with polls, quizzes, and word clouds to deconstruct prejudices.
