His Missa Ecce ancilla Domini follows the tradition of masses built on pre‑existing material, in this case a Gregorian antiphon with Mary’s words at the Annunciation. In a clear and balanced style, Dufay brings melodic lines and polyphonic structures together to create a delicate, introspective whole.
