Okapi - Klankennest (8-24 months)

How can you get children excited about art and culture? There are many ways, but we are big fans of how Klankennest approaches it: for OKAPI, they were inspired by Flemish polyphony, early baroque music, and the sound, texture, and endless play possibilities of clay. Sound and clay? It's a match made in ‘heavenly hands’. What can you expect? A musical landscape in which unique clay sculptures, designed by artist Gemma Luz Bosch, make sounds. The sculptures are landmarks in a world of natural clay, which constantly changes through the playful manipulation of performers and audience. Just like the animal it is named after – graceful and playful, familiar and mysterious – OKAPI takes the audience on a journey of discovery along contrasts: old and new music, familiar and innovative instruments, structure and freedom. An invitation to play, listen, and explore. Klankennest offers the performance for 2 age groups (together with their supervisors): babies from 8 to 24 months and toddlers from 2 to 4 years After the 30-minute performance, there is room for free exploration. The performance at 11 am is intended for toddlers from 2 to 4 years. The performances at 2 pm and 4.30 pm are intended for babies from 8 to 24 months. You buy a ticket for both your child and the adult supervisor(s).
