Discover how heritage is cleaned, saved, and passed on to the future.
Aan de Koninklijke Academie for Schone Kunsten Deeltijds Art Education (KASKA DKO), students are prepared to become professionals, specialized in the conservation and restoration of paintings and polychromed objects. Currently, they are working there on a heavily damaged painting with the Prediking van Johannes de Doper from the collection of the Snijders&Rockoxhuis.
On the occasion of Open Monumentendag, you get a unique chance to visit the studios of the Antwerpse Academie. Teachers and students show how restorers in training learn by doing and introduce you to the practice of the profession.
