An artistic, social, pedagogical and intercultural project that invites to take a new look at one's life path. Through a narrative approach, it encourages the positive appropriation of one's personal history and highlights the resilience resources of each woman. This photographic project was developed with women, often single moms, migrants, homeless or in a situation of poor housing, welcomed within the Casa Frida and the Casa Vesta, transitional accommodation centers of the Samusocial. The starting point of this human and creative adventure was a simple question: what story does a scar tell? Each participant was invited to share a memory, an ordeal, a visible or invisible wound, which has become over time the witness of her strength and her journey. A 3-step process Telling oneself Initially, the participants were accompanied by the photographer Gaëlle Henkens and the cultural mediator Foued Bellali in order to put words on their story and to explore the narratives linked to their scars. They then declaimed these stories within the communities of the casas. Representing oneself They then took part in a photographic workshop led by Gaëlle Henkens. Through collective then individual work, each one sought to translate into images what her scar represents for her, between memory, identity and resilience. Transmettre Enfin, accompanied by Foued Bellali, cultural mediator of the non-profit organization 2Bouts, the participants became the ambassadors of their own narrative. Today, they share with the public these sensitive and powerful testimonies, carriers of hope, dignity and reconstruction.
