You learn to imitate three types of Belgian marble according to 19th-century oil painting techniques and discover the history of this unique stone heritage. You get to know three types of Belgian marble: Saint Anne, Rouge Royal and Bleu Belge. In three workshops, you learn step by step how to build a marble imitation with traditional techniques. You work according to the nineteenth-century method: in layers, with oil paint and specific brushes. Stans Vrijsen (°1995, Mechelen) is a Brussels-based artist with a background in painting, graphics and decorative techniques. In her work, she explores how surfaces can become carriers of memory, fiction and craft.
