City walk: historic buildings in Hasselt with a new future

De Hasseltse Toeristische Gidsen developed a unique walk along historic places that received a striking new interpretation. The walk starts at the artwork in front of the Oud Gasthuis, opposite the canal basin. From there, we walk along five locations to the 19th-century Gendarmerie building, which is now functionally connected to the new city hall. Along the way, you will discover how Hasselt architects help watch over the historic streetscape and give valuable buildings a new future.
