The hidden life on plants: galls, mines and other traces (1000-species day in Ghent)

Plants are hosts to an amazing diversity of other species: insects, mites, fungi, and so much more. Small tunnels in leaves and inconspicuous bumps or spots: they are often signs that the plant is being used as a food source or as a home. During this introductory walk, we will focus together with Michael Van de Voorde on the causes of these and discover the story hidden behind the traces that betray their presence.
