Visit OPZ Geel, André Thys

The OPZ (Openbaar Psychiatrisch Zorgcentrum) in Geel is a public psychiatric care and knowledge center with a second-line assignment. They offer specialized care to people with a psychiatric care question and to their environment when guidance by the first line (general practitioner, family care, center for general welfare work...) no longer suffices. The focus of this visit is on meeting and conversation. We are received in the OPZ visitor center Pas-sage by two experts by experience; people who have experience themselves with, for example, an addiction or a psychological problem. We watch a short film 'My story' that the expert-by-experience employees of the visitor center have made about their recovery, after which two experts by experience tell the group their recovery story. A conversation follows in which there is room to ask questions. After the visit, we drink something together in the meeting center 't Vooruitzicht.
