Join scientists from the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute, STRI, as they visit Barro Colorado island in the center of the Panama Canal. Follow their human dramas and see the animals in action, as they push themselves to the limit to collect data that can not only save rainforests, but also provide essential information about the future of our planet. For example, we swing through the rainforest with a modern-day Tarzan. The scientists use ropes to climb into the trees so they can catch the sloths from the treetops. By studying their brain activity, they have been able to reveal how the rainforest has forced the sloth to be the most lethargic animal walking around there.
