Performance in the context of the ten days of mental health.
In this drama, two thirty-somethings travel through the Schotse Hooglanden to breathe new life into their friendship. Their backpacks are heavy, but well-filled with memories of the past. Chris and Lluis want to cover 600 kilometers. They follow the West Highland Way and the Cape Wrath Trail. Terwijl Chris is still busy with work and life at home, Lluis is determined to finish the trip and prove that he can do it. The loneliness and silence of the Highlands force them to face the harsh reality about themselves. Contrary to their initial goal, they seem to walk further and further away from each other as friends. The North (referring to the travel destination, a cape in the tip of Scotland) was made in-house by the Dutch director-screenwriter Bart Schrijver who is also an avid hiker himself.
