In this performance, fragments from Mozart's letters, sometimes light and playful, then again sharp or moving, are interwoven with his piano trios, thus creating a versatile and lively portrait. The letters reveal a Mozart who comes closer than the image of the untouchable genius: a young artist full of energy and doubts, humor and melancholy, constantly searching for his place in the world. The Susato Trio, which has delved intensively into Mozart's chamber music, approaches this repertoire with a fresh and thoughtful view, in which rhetoric, character, and mutual dialogue are central. In combination with the distinct and nuanced storytelling of Stefaan Degand, this performance grows into a concert experience in which listening, imagining, and understanding come together. De stem van Mozart invites the audience not only to hear Mozart, but to truly meet him: as a composer, as a writer, and as a human being. Aperitif after the concert
