Special evening at Espace 694 – Botrange

Soirée spéciale à l’Espace 694 – Botrange Friday, June 19 from 7:00 PM Espace 694 invites you to an exceptional evening dedicated to the history of the Eastern Cantons, in the presence of Frédéric Moray and Oli Pirnay, author and illustrator of the graphic novel De gré ou de force – Le choix de Franz (By Choice or By Force – Franz's Choice). 7:00 PM – Screening of the video Eastorium de Botrange Un, a 15-minute film that traces the history of Eastern Belgium through the iconic monuments of the Hautes Fagnes. Available in French, German, and Dutch. 7:30 PM – Meet & Greet and book signing with Frédéric Moray Découvrez, behind the scenes of his graphic novel inspired by real testimonies. Through the destiny of Franz, a young man from Malmedy forcibly conscripted into the German army during the Seconde Guerre World War, the author sheds light on a little-known page of our regional history. 8:00 PM – Screening of the documentary De gré ou de force (By Choice or By Force) The documentary that served as the basis for the creation of the graphic novel will be presented by its director. An immersion into the heart of the heart-wrenching choices imposed by History, followed by a discussion with the public around this question: "What would you have done if you had been born in 1917?" An evening rich in discoveries, emotions, and collective memory... at the summit of Belgium.
