“To do what to do what to do what to do…” P2, the new one from Pitou sounds darker, danceable, and a bit like the ideal soundtrack for a modern coven. She brings it to the Ballroom in De Vooruit. Come and roar along in the multi-layered universe of the Dutch singer-songwriter. The last time we saw Pitou was in a church in the Nederlandse Groningen. She stood there at Eurosonic Noorderslag, just about the biggest festival for emerging talent, to present her latest, ‘P2’. We actually found that strange, because the star of this northern neighbor has been rising for a while. She owes that mainly to her infectious mix of folkloric bewitching vocal lines over music that sounds acoustic at times, and electronic at others. Not to mention her stage presence. ‘’We want them with us again’’, we said then, and so it happened. Pitou already garnered much praise in 2023 with her album ‘Big Tear’, which earned a place in various end-of-year lists (‘One of the most beautiful contemporary indie pop albums of this moment.’ – Madame Figaro, FR, ‘an album of world class’ – Volkskrant, NL). In ‘P2’, which was released on March 20, 2026, she lets her emotions and creativity run even freer. It is a carousel full of euphoria, on which joy of life and melancholy find their way to the dance floor. Her very specific musical background – singing in a classical children's choir and traveling with her parents – where she brought home cassettes of Malian, Senegalese, and Indian artists – led to a recognizable musical universe, where her characteristic voice, unique melodies, and chord progressions go hand in hand with intuitive and poetic lyrics. From the cacophonous first single 'Too Good To Go' to the ethereal songs 'Pirate' and 'Morning Star', the majestic 'Restlessness' and the manic 'To Do What' – ‘P2’ is at times bewitching and intimate, at others infectious rapture. Come and let yourself be carried away. Pitou is not coming alone. More info about the support will follow later.
