I’m sitting in a room,I see, I see what you don’t want to see.I saw it and gave up on it long ago.Life goes on as usual…Does the future hold any promise?I choose not to do it.And stick with what I see.I accept the consequences.I discover the joy in the tragedy.My joy is my legacyMy legacy is my strengthMy strength is mineIn Perfect Child, Bila Belachew joins forces with Kato Bijvoet, Mayte Martín Díaz, Samy Filali, Jef Sturm and Winter Devoogdt to seek an answer to the question: “Should we still be bringing children into the world in a world where their future seems increasingly uncertain?” By following a character who moves between fantasy and reality, the audience finds themselves in a horror-science fiction performance where question and answer meet.  • Bila Belachew is a multidisciplinary theatre maker in training.Drawing on, among other things, his 25 years of life experience, he creates projects that often fall within the realm of fiction. With a pessimistic undertone, he explores themes relating to youth, mental wellbeing, trauma, loss, death and what comes after death. Hope is sought in unexpected places, and tragedy. And by approaching these themes in his own authentic way, he seeks to give them a place in the theatre.
