The ultimate baroque-hack of Sander De Keere? Een Contius-organ from the 18th century as analog synthesizer
You don't know it from us, but something is brewing under the scalp of Sander De Keere. Nine compositions, to be precise, born during lonely nights in a cold church. De Keere improvised on a Contius organ, took the notes home, returned, screwed and planed and finally gave them fixed form. The result sounds almost electronic: registers that open softly, chord and silence blocks that push against each other, and repetitive patterns that involuntarily lure the baroque instrument to the now.
