Dizzyingly good
He is a genial blonde Belgian. She is a temperamental dark-haired Italian, a full head shorter. Between them: a roue Cyr or a giant titanium hoop that connects them and drives them apart at the same time.
In Difference is a circus duet about what separates people and yet keeps them together. Everaert and Marinoni collide, tease, kick, reconcile... they spin through space together as if they have no choice. The roue Cyr is their only common language: an iron vocabulary that they break through with new findings, dramatic images, and a cruelty that you rarely see in circus.
Not a feel-good circus, then, but a performance with hooks. And an open ending. A wheel that keeps turning long after the bodies have fallen.
Can two people ever really find harmony? In Difference gives no answer. It asks the question with the whole body. Intense!
The acrobats push the boundaries of what is possible with a cyr wheel. And that is no exaggeration. - in Theaterkrant
