Gent Jazz Talent 2026

On July 18, an entire festival day is dedicated to emerging jazz talent at Gent Jazz. At Op de Garden Stage, three promising acts compete for the audience award. SLAGADER brings an energetic mix of fusion, funky grooves, and spacy synths, MOTMOT surprises with layered and playful compositions, and matoka explores the boundary between live jazz and electronic music. Vote along and determine who becomes the audience favorite. There is also plenty to experience besides the competition. Omasta brings an irresistible mix of jazz and hip-hop, while TUKAN closes the day with their signature blend of electronic music and jazz – the perfect warm-up for the second evening of the Gentse Feesten.
